A Soldier’s Odyssey
Years, Fears, and Tears. World War II Letters by Harold Grove Moss.
Story Behind the Letters
In 2001, a box of old World War II letters surfaced from a neglected box in storage. What lie inside were the complete letters documenting the life of Harold Moss, a soldier in the American Army during WWII. His journey starts in the States during basic training and leads him throughout the Pacific, all the way to Okinawa. Harold was lucky enough to make it back to the States in one piece and before his death in 2008, his personal reflections of the war were recorded for others to enjoy.
I never spoke of the terror I experienced ... until 50 years later.-Harold Moss
